Alfred sat in the armchair by the window, sipping from a near-empty coffee mug, a copy of The Daily Prophet spread out in his lap. He'd skimmed over a couple of the articles, but he'd largely given up the pretense of reading it; he was watching the apartment door.
It wasn't like he needed Lili to be around all the time, or anything. They both had their own lives and all. But the wee hours of the morning seemed like one of those times that probably should be reserved for cuddling in bed with your significant other, not wondering where she was and what she might have gotten herself up to this time.
