"I just don't see why I should have to apologize when I haven't done anything wrong."

"Well perhaps you can find it in yourself to apologise to your housemates for losing two points for Slytherin."

"Hardly. I'm not a team player."

"Suit yourself. But do try to be more careful in the future."

Vidia snorted. "Yes, of course, darling."

[sapienza]

"Endearments will win you no points, duck."

[speedily]

"What?" The petnames were such second-nature that Vidia hardly thought about using them... When she realized what Minerva meant, she shook her head. "I wasn't trying for that."

"It seems I've made you think, if just for a moment."

[speedily]

"I'm not stupid, if that's what you're trying to say."

[sapienza]

"Hardly. Intelligence and thoughtfulness are two quite different beasts."

"Don't be silly. Aren't they similar enough?"

"That's where a bit of thoughtfulness ought to come in."

"You're being difficult."

"Well I daresay you started it."
